But what’s the Palomino Blackwing? IT’S ONLY THE BEST PENCIL EVER CREATED!

If Jesus/Sherlock Holmes/Christopher Hitches were still alive and used a pencil, they’d use the Palomino Blackwing 602.

Really though, back in the day, a company called Eberhard-Faber made the Blackwing 602. It was the ultimate pencil of choice- Chuck Jones used it, John Steinbeck used it, everybody used it. But then, in the mid 90s, it was discontinued.

I don’t know why, it was the 90s, stuff was weird.

There was chaos, riots, etc- you know, the usual stuff that happens when a pencil is discontinued- but then the Blackwing 602 blackmarket emerged. These pencils started showing up online- in 2002, one of them sold for $40 on eBay.

Not a dozen of them- a single pencil.

Anyways, a company bought the rights a few years ago and now Pencils.com sells them! And because they want you to have all the cool stuff that John Steinbeck had, they gave me some stuff to give away!

what are some things you find unusual in your culture?

depends by what things you define as culture? I don’t find any of them unusual, i actually quite like polish culture :) it has a lot of rich history deep rooted. It’s quite wonderful, the traditions are nice and family is important within it. Gift giving is a custom which defines manners and kindness and is much more personal thing than it is in england where you just give a card and money, it’s so bland. Flowers and gifts and a personal card are much more common in poland and i find it much nicer. Granted a lot of traditions are based on Catholic traditions but i can’t deny something i grew up with even if i don’t agree with it. so i’m not really sure what you’re looking for?
